Description
The Ultimaker S5 is built around independent dual extrusion, letting it print soluble support material alongside a structural filament so complex overhangs and internal cavities come out clean without manual support removal. An enclosed, actively heated chamber stabilises engineering materials like nylon, PC and composites throughout the print, and interchangeable print cores let the same machine switch between fine-detail and high-flow printing without a full hotend swap. Active bed levelling checks the plate before every job, and a 330 × 240 × 300 mm volume comfortably handles multi-part assemblies or larger single prints. Designed for professional and light-industrial use, the S5 targets reliability and material versatility over raw speed, with Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity for fleet management across a shared workspace. Unlike most desktop FDM machines, the S5 runs on 2.85 mm filament rather than 1.75 mm, which matters when stocking spools or switching from a smaller printer in the same fleet. Its dual print cores can push up to 24 mm³ of material per second combined, and the system draws up to 500 W to keep both the enclosed chamber and print cores at working temperature.
